Star
Award
Hoffman was also recognized by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter of the International
Special Event society (ISES) with a 2007 Minnesota Star award for “Best
Event Technical Production” and was nominated in the “Best Event Logistics”
category.
ISES
goes to great lengths to maintain the highest standard for the ISES Minnesota
Star Awards and to ensure that the judging process is accurate and fair.
Each
fall, entries are submitted to a third-party law firm to ascertain that all basic
requirements and rules are met, and that the entrants remain anonymous. This year,
the entries went directly to the ISES New England Chapter for judging. The three
receiving the highest total point score in their category became nominees and
the highest scoring entry was named the winner.
The
entries were then returned directly to the law firm who notified the ISES planning
committee of the results. The names of the winners remained sealed and were known
only to the law firm and the company supplying the trophies. The law firm created
and sealed winner envelopes, and supplied them to the ISES planning team on the
day of the event.
Coming
soon to a computer screen near you: Hoffman – The Movie.
This month, Hoffman Communications begins production on a series of ‘slice-of-life’
vignettes that we’ll stream on our Web site. As you watch these 30-second
“Webisodes,” you’ll laugh… you’ll cry… you’ll
wonder why you’re not doing even more business with us, given our creativity
and amazing range of services. Each vignette has a famous movie line embedded
in it. If you identify the line, and the movie it’s from, you’ll be
eligible for our grand prize of a yearlong trip around the world. Or, if your
boss won’t allow that, you’ll be eligible for a fine meal at a downtown
Minneapolis restaurant with one of our even finer AEs. Stay tuned…
Hoffman Meets the JW Marriott, Desert Springs in Palm Desert, California
In
just three days, Hoffman produced a welcome reception, two general sessions, dozens
of breakouts, a vendor show with over 100 exhibitors, and three awards banquets!
All of it in the middle of the desert, thousands of miles from Hoffman’s
headquarters. This type of event requires months of logistical planning and strategic
event design as well as three semi-trucks including everything from turf tabletops
to several 12,000 lumen projectors.
This
fabulous hotel features more than 210,000 sq ft of event space including a 25,000
sq. ft. ballroom. Two large ballrooms and a pavilion also offer great flexibility
for corporate events. In just 48 hours Hoffman transformed one of the ballrooms
from a business meeting to a vendor tradeshow and finally, to an awards banquet!
The loading docks at this facility are conveniently located and directly attached
to the ballrooms, decreasing labor call times, and there were many rigging points,
allowing for exceptional layout and ballroom design.A
beautiful location in any part of the world and Hoffman as your event production
company is a terrific combination and results in an unforgettable experience!
Hoffman
Remote Studio – Your Window to the World
Several
times a month, Hoffman receives requests from all over the world for ‘live

remote studio features a fiber-optic connection that sends and receives video
at the speed of light to almost anywhere in the world. Last month, studio guests
appeared on CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, CSPAN and Democracy Now! and discussed topics ranging
from the war in Iraq to natural gas supplies. A live shot was also delivered to
Australian Broadcasting for their version of Dateline, which on their side is
always tomorrow!
